Madeleines

Today I made madeleines for the first time ever. I watched Gordon Ramsay’s video for general instructions and the following recipe:

  1. Self-raising flour – 100g
  2. Eggs – 2
  3. Butter – 80g
  4. Zest of an orange or lemon
  5. Poppy seads ~ 2 tspns

Here’s how they looked:

Not bad, eh?

I love how these are shell-shaped. So much more elegant than cupcakes. Yes, I don’t like cupcakes because they leave crumbs everywhere and are often very dry. Ok, bye.
